Is it a coincidence that while the “Cow Head” incidence is still hot in the public’s attention, the government decided to raise the price of fuel(which is already high). I, for one, do not believe in coincidences. I believe, the cow head demonstration was orchestrated to divert the public’s attention from the real issue that effect everyone and every soul that’s living in Malaysia, the rising of the price of oil.
If the residence of Section 23 feels they didn’t want a temple near their homes, there is already a dialogue between the government and residence of Section 23. Why do they need to demonstrate, or why do they need to demonstrate before the dialogue. Any sane person would not jump the gun and at least will wait until they hear the views of the government before they decide to resist or accept the plan. It’s only sane and natural.
Why jump the gun? Why can’t they wait for the government’s decision before they decide to accept or reject the issue? In truth, the majority of S23 residents are leveled headed and wise. They were waiting for the dialogue with the government. The demonstration is the handiwork of UMNO and the severed “cow head” is totally an UMNO idea.
From what I’ve gathered, only 5 people in the group are known to be residents of Section 23. The rest are unknown and many are known to be UMNO activists. So, it’s beyond any doubt an UMNO idea and I believe the entire shenanigan is to drive attention away from the oil price hike recently announced right after our Merdeka Day celebration.
The Section 23 issue is not even an issue. No one will get hurt. The temple will be far away from people’s residences and also from the local surau. The oil hike will cause more discomfort in everday’s people life. The people’s income will be severely reduced and families will suffer even more.
If any attention should be given to, it’s the rise in oil prices rather than anything else. UMNO knows the oil price issue will take away all the middle ground support that they are dearly clinging to after 2008 elections. I believe, after this oil hike, UMNO and BN will be down to their bones and limited to their own core support base.
It’s clear Najib has failed to put the house in order so as to necessitate the rising of the price of fuel. Already average Malaysians is suffering from the hike in prices of goods and necessities. Adopting the latest hike will make Malaysians suffer even more. There is no reason for average Malaysians to support BN anymore as it’s clear BN is not helping the people very much and offloading their responsibility on the people to bear.
That’s why they badly need this “severed cow head” theatricals. They need to get attention away from the issue that will bury them, probably for good. I mean, Pak Lah lost bad because of the oil hikes, what do u think this oil hike will do to an already unpopular Najib Tun Razak? And remember, in terms of popularity, Pak Lah was riding high compared to Najib.
